Community Resources
Prior to the Covid19 pandemic these were community organizations and businesses that were available to Girl Scouts for information, events, and outings. Please check in directly with the company to see what they currently offer. If you find other organizations helpful let us know so we can add them to the list!
REI - will host your troop, do demos and talk about gear for a small fee. (Around $60ish)
CRITTER CABANA - provides small group tours of their pet store.
WILD HORSE MOUNTAIN (Mustang & donkey rescue that trains horses for therapy). Offers occasional tours.
GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND - Campus tours, allows attendance of their guide dog graduation ceremony.
TUALATIN HILLS PARK & REC - Outdoor Badge and Journey Programs
HOME DEPOT KIDS WORKSHOP - Contact individual stores for current woodworking projects.
HOME DEPOT WOOD KITS - Purchase kids woodworking kits to do on your own.
LOWE'S KIDS WORKSHOP - Kids woodworking workshop
SAFE SITTER - Cadette Babysitting Badge resources
SHERWOOD YMCA - will allow Cadettes to work in their Child Watch to earn the volunteer hours needed for the Babysitting Badge.
WINGS & WAVES WATERPARK - variety of group events available
EVERGREEN AVIATION MUSEUM - STEM and Astronomy Badge workshops, indoor overnight
AL'S GARDEN CENTER - Monthly Kids Club activities. Dates differ for each location.
HATFIELD MARINE SCIENCE CENTER (Newport, OR) - Hands on labs for groups of all ages.
COLUMBIA RIVER ORIENTEERING CLUB (CROC) - Youth/beginners welcome at every event. Permanent courses available to families/troops
PHILIP FOSTER FARM (Eagle Creek, OR) - Farm/pioneer interactive activities for Scouts
MEDFORD GS SERVICE CENTER - Has overnight lodging for up to 30 including kitchen and shower.
